Pastor "Fred" Eichner was called to Lakeside Lutheran in 2002.

A graduate of Gettysburg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA, class of 1966, he took his first call in the Virginia Synod in Fredericksburg, and proceeded to serve in Severna Park, Maryland where he met his wife, Gail. They have three children residing in NY, WV, and FL providing them with six grandchildren.

Those who know him well, know that after his passion for Martin Luther and Bach, come the New York Yankees and his love of golf.

When asked he will tell you, he enjoys preaching and opportunities to assist people with their personal counseling needs.

One of his great privileges has been to be the supervisor of now two interns (vicars) in their 3rd year out of four in seminary, to prepare them for their own parish opportunities.

Coming to Lakeside Lutheran @ Lake Gaston has joyfully shown him that there are always new unique opportunities in ministry.

And yes, he has a favorite bibilical quote:  Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Vicar Julie Scheibel

Vicar Julie grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, and most of her family still resides there. Her older sister lives in northwest Indiana with her husband and dog.

She graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. Because of her college's motto to “Be Orange!” she loves the color orange and wears it often.

This internship is her third year of study at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA. Throughout her studies in college and seminary, she has gained a passion for the Bible, especially the Old Testament.

As this year progresses, Vicar Julie looks forward to challenging Lakeside to look at the Bible in a new light. She hopes that she and those of Lakeside will learn much from each other and be transformed in the process.

Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 58: 11-12: “For Your kindness is great to the heavens, and to the skies Your steadfast truth. Loom over the heavens, O God. Over all the earth your glory.”

Janice Love - Director of Music

Janice Love is our talented music director who remains very busy managing and directing our main Choir, Praise Team and the Joyful Ringers.

Additionally, she works with many soloists and guest instrumentalists.

And of course, our smiling Susan is the first person who greets newcomers to Lakeside.
